Get Smart About Credit 2010, Plus Identity Theft Protection To maximize Get Smart About Credit's (Oct. 21) impact this year, the foundation expanded the program to include elements of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling's Protect Your Identity Week (Oct. 17-23). Participating banks can partner with local credit counselors to give joint lessons, host a community shredding event courtesy of Cintas, or direct consumers to the Protect Your Identity Week Website. Lights, Camera, Save!, the foundation's newest component of the Teach Children to Save program, is a video contest designed to get young people excited about saving while inspiring others to do the same. The contest was featured in the July issue of ABA Banking Journal as a unique way to help banks create a savings "buzz" and engage their youngest customers. Read the article.
